    David Portugal completed his PhD degree in Robotics and Automation at the University of Coimbra in Portugal, in March 2014. His main areas of expertise are cooperative robotics, social robotics, service robotics, sensor fusion, SLAM, meta-heuristics and graph theory. He has previous company experiences at Citard Services and Ingeniarius, Ltd. as a Project and Technical Manager, and Experienced Researcher. David is currently an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Coimbra and a Senior Researcher at ISR since 2019. He has been involved in several local and EU-funded research projects in Robotics and Ambient Assisted Living, such as CHOPIN-FCT, TIRAMISU-FP7, SocialRobot-FP7-MSCA, CogniWin-AAL-JP, GrowMeUp-H2020, STOP-P2020, CORE-P2020, SEMFIRE-P2020, WoW-CMU-Portugal, 5GSmartFact-H2020-MSCA-ITN and TRUSTID-Erasmus+.
