UC is the Portugal 2nd best institution in Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) at the University of Coimbra was ranked as the second-best institution in Portugal in the field and between 201-300 in the world, according to the 2025 Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, the world's most prestigious university rankings for scientific excellence. Furthermore, the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR), which has consistently been awarded the classification of Excellent by international evaluation panels of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), reflects a productive synergy between DEEC and ISR, with benefits for both institutions, as around 70% of ISR’s integrated professors are faculty members of the department.
