ISR former student awarded with 2025 Best PhD Thesis by the Applied Sciences journal

Manuel Reis Carneiro has been awarded the 2025 Best Doctoral Dissertation Award by the Applied Sciences journal (MDPI), recognizing the outstanding quality and impact of his PhD research.

His dissertation entitled "High‑fidelity on‑skin bioelectronics through advanced soft and sustainable materials" was developed within the CMU Portugal dual-degree PhD Program, with research conducted at Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) and at the University of Coimbra and ISR-Coimbra, under the supervision of Prof. Mahmoud Tavakoli and Prof. Carmel Majidi.
