Field Test with Variable Speed Drives: Sectorial Dissemination Strategy with Utilities to prepare Demand Side Management

The aim of the project was to demonstrate the economically viable field implementation of variable speed drives (VSDs) for energy efficiency purposes. Therefore different types of potential applications have been first investigated and tested. As results of such a field test the most promising applications were identified. On the basis of such economical viable applications with VSDs utilities were involved and activated as key market players. The field test should enable them to better assess the appropriate application and provide the engineering experience to quicker and more economical installations.
